Application Environment

High humidity, moderate acid rain exposure, strong summer UV radiation, and mild salt spray risk, Shanghai has a humid climate with a prolonged rainy season where consistently keep high relative humidity throughout the year. That highly increases the risk of condensation and corrosion on color-coated steel sheets. Additionally, due to industrial emissions and vehicle exhaust, the city falls into a moderate acid rain zone, with an average pH ranging from 4.5 to 5.6. This placing higher demands on the coating’s acid and alkali resistance. Besides, strong UV exposure in summer in Shanghai can lead color fading and chalking of the coating. Shanghai nears to rivers that also exposed to mild salt spray conditions. Although mild salt spray conditions in Shanghai is not as corrosive as typical coastal zones, where still as a subtropical and industrial metropolis presents complex environmental challenges.

Location :Shanghai, China

Used Products: (TS350GD+AZ AZ150 PVDF (Polyvinglidence difluoride color coated steel coils and plates)

Raw material brand: Baowu

Advantages

The coating adopts a patented formula incorporating Kynar 500®, Hynar 5000®, and inorganic ceramic pigments. Every new raw material must undergo and pass a 10-year Florida outdoor exposure test before being approved for commercial use that ensuring consistent product quality. Baowu’s PVDF products’ fluororesin content ≥ 70% that provides a 20-year coating warranty, which guaranteeing no peeling or chalking within that period as well. PVDF fluorocarbon coatings are regarded as the highest-grade architectural finishes currently available in market. They are recognized as the most protective organic coatings which is capable of preserving the integrity and appearance of metal panels for decades. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) forms extremely stable fluorocarbon bonds due to the strong electronegativity of fluorine atoms. Its molecular symmetry further contributes to its exceptional UV resistance, chemical stability, and insulating and mechanical performance. Key properties include excellent weatherability, chemical and corrosion resistance, especially under acid, alkaline, and heavily polluted conditions. It also offers outstanding workability, flexibility, abrasion and impact resistance, making it ideal for applications requiring long-term durability and pollution resistance. Typical uses include roofs, facades, and exterior cladding of major public buildings and infrastructure projects, where long-lasting performance and appearance are essential.
